Review of Accreditation Standards for the psychology profession
At the request of the Psychology Board of Australia, APAC is currently undertaking a major review of the accreditation standards for the psychology profession in Australia (the Review).
As part of the Review, APAC re-drafted the current APAC Accreditation Standards for Psychology Courses (the main standards for undergraduate and postgraduate programs of study in psychology in Australia), which have been in place since June 2010 and is currently consulting with stakeholders regarding the Proposed Draft Standards.
A second set of draft standards, concerned with the specialised components of professional postgraduate programs of education intended to qualify graduates for entry to an Area of Practice Endorsement Registrar program, will be released for public consultation late in May 2013.
APAC encourages all stakeholders to participate in this important review of standards for the education and training of psychologists in Australia.
APAC will conduct the following full cycle assessments in 2013:
La Trobe University
Macquarie University
Monash University
Swinburne University
University of New South Wales
University of the Sunshine Coast
University of Sydney
If stakeholders wish to contribute to the assessment process please contact APAC.
